Shockers Help Extreme Makeover Home Edition When the shocker volinteers got to the site, the Extreme Makeover Crew was about 3 hours behind schedule, but the Shockers have been battle tested, & they know how to deal with adversity. By the time the Drywall crew & the Shockers day was finnished they were only 15 min behind schedule. It was a good time was for a good cause, & the Shockers were greatfull to be apart of it.

Shockers are now starting 2008
The 2007 season is officially over, & the Shockers have already started building for the 2008 season. This past Tuesday night marked the last time the Shockers will meet as a team for the 2007 season, & what a season it was. Week in & week out the Shockers stood toe to toe with some of the top teams in the league, & still finished 7-3 in league play. Not many teams can say the did that, & still came out on top. However none of this would have been possible without the love & support of our friends, & family, especially the wife's, & girlfriends. You ladies have sacrificed more then we will ever know, & we thank you for that. We would also like to give a special thanks out to Becky, & Don Willis who put there life, & there jobs on hold to take a chance on a team. We are very grateful to have you guys as apart of the Shocker family. It has been a very long & difficult road that you two crossed to make things easier on the players. We would also like to thank the Shocker Girls for all there support, & dedication you gave us. You ladies put in just as much time as the guys, & don't always get the glory. We would also like to thank Rockhurst for allowing us to use one of the greatest football facilities in Kansas City, all the player reps & volinters, fans, & anybody that helped make 2007 a great success.

Shockers back on track.
This year for the Shockers has been up & down to say the least, but one thing the Shockers know how to do is win, & winning is just what they are doing. After starting out the season in a loss against the NEMO Wildcats the Shockers were left looking for answers from there young offense, and answers was what they got posting up 67 points against the CPFL All-stars. The Shockers didn't let that win go to their head though, defeating the Iowa Threshers 16-11 in week one of regular season play. Shockers defense has showed that they can win too. In week two the big D kept the Kaos from scoring on there last three drives of the game making the final score 23-16, but the St Louis Bulldogs had something to say about the Shockers current winning streak beating them 22-21. The shockers then took out their loss on the Jazz, at the Shockers former home field in Excelsior Springs, by a score of 41-7. Last Week the Shockers showed that they can beat the Kaos twice, & once again keep the Border War trophy in Missouri, but it wasn't that easy. The Kaos came out clicking on all cylinders, & did everything right on defense, keeping the Shockers offense down almost all first half. Then just right before the half the Shockers went for a field goal, only to have it blocked, & returned for a touch down. The Shockers remained scoreless in the first half, but came out second half with that Shockers swagger, & took back the controls of the game posting up 27 points the second half, & only allowing 7. This week the Shockers are looking for some revenge against the Kane County Eagles. The last two years the Eagles have had the Shockers number, beating them once in the elite eight of the playoffs in 05, & last year in OT of a regular season game. Both games were at the Eagles home, but this year they come to Kansas City. Kick off is scheduled for 7:00pm this Saturday Aug. 18 at Dasta Stadium Rockhurst HS 9301 State Line RD. Kansas City MO.
Shockers lose preseason 22-12,
but gain some much needed experience.
Going in to the MLFA Champion Wildcats game this week the Shockers found themselves without the arm of veteran QB #10 Daryl Rider who was home with his newly born twins, and that left the Shockers looking to first year player #16 Bobby Scarbrough to lead them out on the field. However Bobby wasn't the only first year player. The Shockers actually started 6 players on offensive that had never even touched the field at the minor-league level. To make matters worst the Shockers were with out both their kicker & punter, & had to look to #13 Pierre Mosby to kick, but as you know the game of football is about adversity, and the show must go on.
The game was scheduled for a 7:00 kickoff, and got delayed till 9:00 when the referees finally showed up. Once the game got started the Shockers "Death Squad" Defense showed that they haven't missed a step, and went 3 and out. The Wildcats then punted to #3 O.J. Simpson who returned it 90 plus yards for a touch down. When the Wildcats got the ball back they wasted no time in scoring a TD pass to tie it up at 6-6. Both defenses continued to battle until Shockers QB Bobby Scarbrough broke the wildcats defense (which has allowed no touchdowns this season), connecting with rookie WR #84 Jason Smith to put the shockers up 12-6. The Wildcats then pulled together a long drive to score on a TD pass, which made the score 12-13. At the end of the first half the wildcats got in a last second field goal to make the half time score 12-16. The second half was all defense. Bad field position led to two field goals to make the final score Shockers 12 Wildcats 22.
The Shockers would like to give a special thanks to the Northeast Missouri Wildcats for hosting the game, Nathan More (AC/DC) & Butler's C&D collision & repair for putting in extra time to make sure we all had our helmets painted, Thoroughbred Ford for the transportation, & anyone else that helped make this game possible. The Shockers next game is scheduled for June 23rd at home, against an opponent to be announced.
Shockers take on MLFA league champions.
This is what we have been waiting for. The time has finally come for the shockers to strap it up & take the field for their 2007 season. This has by far been the toughest off-season the shockers ever have had to overcome. With the loss of former head coach Robert Webb, Defensive coordinator Robert Hall, & veteran QB Eric Hoskins. The shockers found themselves looking for answers, & new set of uniforms. Adversity is something that the Shockers always talk about, but they have never had to deal with it in the front office. Needless to say GM Otis Patterson was forced to put the pieces of this broken puzzle back together, & had very little time to do it in. With the help of Player reps, & a whole new front office the shockers have done just that, they have put the pieces back together, one piece at a time. They brought back former Shocker coach, & 9-year NFL vet Donald Willis as the new head coach. Revamped the offensive bringing back both star running backs Brannon Hatley, & Shemond Davis. Returning Darryl Rider at the QB spot, & adding some depth with Bobby Scarbrough, & Joe Peppers. The Shockers have also added a ton of talent to the veteran receiving core of, O.J. Simpson, Keith Dawson, Isreal Thompson, Korey Woodbury, & Damon Wells. Also adding standout D-end Daniel Tuiono to the receiving mix, & making a can't miss target at tight-end. The Defense hasn't lost a step ether, returning the Samoan head hunters Tufue Tua & Tenny Barber. A solid run stopping core of, Eric Moore, Leroy Moore, Matt Williams, P.J. Tuiono, Randy Alexander, & Dustin Cundiff, And a revamped secondary with leaders, Antoine Williams, Donielle Robinson, & Pierre Mosby.
This year will defiantly be one to remember, & to start it all off the shockers will be playing MLFA league champs the NEMO Wildcats, a team formally known as the NEMO Cyclones. The last time these two teams met was the shockers first ever game, & the Shockers just squeaked by with a score of 18-7. A lot has changed since then however the success of these two teams has not. The Wildcats have already played Shockers cross state division rival St Louis bulldogs, & won by a score of 7-0. This pre-season game will be a big test between NAFL, & the MLFA. The game will be this Saturday June 9th at Christian Brothers College High School; 1850, De LaSalle Drive St Louis, MO 63141 Kick off time is set for 7:00pm. We hope to see a lot of local faces.
New for 2007 Your very own Kansas City Shockers are now doing even more for the community then before. In the Winter of 2006 the Kansas City Shockers decided that Having a successfully football team both on & off the field wasn't enough. They wanted to do more, and more is what they did, by starting up the Heroes of the Gridiron, a non-for profit 501(c3). Each game that the shockers play this year, they will donate a minimum of 70% of proceeds to a selected charity. Some of the charity's that the Shockers will be playing for are Big Brothers Big Sisters, United Way, Salvation Army, American Red Cross, Ronald McDonald House, & N.A.W.S (Northland Animal Welfare Society). The Heroes of the Gridiron will also host other events through out the year. Please check out the web site by clicking on the image above.
FORMER CHIEFS O-LINEMAN JOINS SHOCKERS COACHING STAFF The Kansas City Shockers are excited to announce the signing of former Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman, Donald Willis to their coaching staff. Willis will be the defensive line coach. He broke into the NFL in 1995 with the Saints. Donald Willis (6-3, 325) has appeared in 63 total games (six starts) in his seven-year NFL career with Kansas City (2000-03), New Orleans (95-97) and Seattle (95). Willis has played in 59 games (six starts) with the Chiefs, including four starts at left guard in 2001 and one start apiece at center and right guard in 2000. The Goleta, California native ended his collegiate career at North Carolina A&T after spending three seasons at the University of Washington. Willis was a standout football and track athlete as a prep at Cabrillo High School in Lompoc, California. He retired after the 2004 season.
*EAGLES TAKE SPARK OUT OF SHOCKERS The Kansas City Shockers traveled to Aurora, IL Saturday night for the North American Football League's Northern Conference Championship against the Kane County Eagles. Going into half time the score was 27-7. In the second half the Shockers came roaring back and scored two touchdowns, minus one extra point in just 6 minutes to make the score 27-20. However, two key penalties killed the Shockers in the end and the Eagles scored one last TD. The Shockers forced 4 turnovers, 3 interceptions and 1 fumble recovery. Kansas City forced the Eagles into 3 field goals. In the first half, Kane County killed Kansas City by kicking off or punting to them just twice, while turning trickery in the form of fake punts or onside kicks. The final score of this one was 34-20. We want to wish Kane County the best of luck this weekend against the Central Penn Piranah. A special thanks to Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Eric Warfield and others for the donation for the long bus trip.
The Shockers finished 10-1 in the regular season and 2-1 in the playoffs (including the forfielt by Nebraksa.) We would like to thank you, the fans, for your awesome support all season long. We would also like to thank Jesse Hall of the Excelsior Springs School District and his staff for their wonderful support. We would also like to thank Jogan and Tiff St. James and Micheal Smith for their work with the public address announcing and the music. The Shockers have some awesome things in store for 2006! Be sure to keep checking back often for all the latest news from your favorite minor league football team.
* SHOCKERS SHELL SHOCK TITANS Round three, Mid-West Region Championship, North American Football League The Kansas City Shockers played host to the Twin Cities Titans Saturdady night in front of a great and loud crowd and then sent them back on a long ride home frustraded and dazed as the Shockers torched them 58-6. Helping lead the way was halfback Brannon Hatley who had well over 200 yards rushing and 5 touchdowns! Quarterback Eric Hoskins also connected with reciever Joe Jones twice and tight end Brandon Cottrell for scores. Korey Woodbury also had a touchdown on the ground. The Shockers "Death Squad" defense held the Titans to negative yards rushing and went interception happy picking off six passes including rookie corner Maverick Dean who had two. The only touchdown scored for the Titans came on a conterversial play on a kickoff where the Titans returner was down but then pitched it to another guy who took the corner and was gone. The extra point was then blocked by linebacker Eric Moore. With the win the Shockers advance to the Northern Conference Championship this upcoming Saturday, October 22 in Chicago, IL against the well respected and undefeated Kane County Eagles. The season kicked off with 114 teams. Eight are left! The road to Orlando, the road for the right to play on ESPN continues... Will you be there?

*DIVISION PERFECTION
The Kansas City Shockers completed the 2005 regular season at home Saturday night with a game against North Central Division opponent the Dakota Lawdawgs. The final score was 37-13 in favor of the Shockers. With the win, the Shockers complete a perfect division record, 8-0, and finish the season with a 10-1 overall record. Also the win gave the Shockers their 20th victory in the organizations two year history. In 2005 the Shockers scored 511 points (46 points per game) and allowed only 100 points (9 points per game.) In the North Central Division the Shockers scored 413 points (52 points per game) and allowed just 55 points (7 points per game.) The Shockers will soon learn the plan for the playoffs as soon as the league makes an announcement. Keep coming back here for more information!
*SHOCKERS CAPTURE DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP
What better setting could you ask for? The Kansas City Shockers took to the astroturf in Omaha, NE to face the five time defending North Central Division champions Nebraska Bears in a game to determine who would win it for the 2005 season. The Bears came out early with an interception that led to a field goal. After that? All Shockers. The defense shut down any movement the Bears tried to make. The Shockers offense was lead by the strong blocking of the offensive line who let running back Brannon Hatley have a field day. Signal caller Eric Hoskins had a few touchdown passes to O.J. Simpson and two to Phillip Doolin. We will have a complete scoring wrap on the site very soon! The game ended however very strangly when the Shockers scored to end the third quarter and the officals telling the Shockers that the game was over. As soon as we figure out what happened we will let you know as well. Final score in 3 quarters Shockers 50, Bears 3. Next week the Shockers look to finish off the 2005 regualr season with a perfect division record as the well respected Dakota Lawdawgs come to town. The last time these two teams met was on July 23 where the Lawdawgs gave the Shockers all they wanted in the first half of the game (14-14 at half.). After halftime? Another story as the Shockers went on to a 48-14 win. The game this weekend is at Tiger Stadium in Excelsior Springs, MO. Kickoff is set for 7:05 PM. Come out and celebrate the championship!
*KEEPING IT ROLLING...
The Shockers defeated the Norfolk Thunderbirds Saturday night in Excelsior Springs 61 to 0. More on this very soon.
* SHOCKERS CRANK IT UP TO HIGH VOLTAGE
The Kansas City Shockers traveled to Paullina, IA Saturday night to continue their North Central Division Destruction Tour. The Shockers who had previously beaten the Northwest Iowa Bruisers 45-0 didn't let up on the road bruising the Bruisers 56-12. The Shockers are now 7-1 overall and 5-0 in the division. They are also out scoring their division foes 265 to 39. Next, Kansas City will play host to the win-less Norfolk Thunderbirds, who were electrocuted 68-0 in Norfolk, NE on July 16.
* SHOCKERS ROLLING THROUGH DIVISION
The Kansas City Shockers traveled to South Dakota last night to take on the Dakota Lawdawgs. After a back and forth first half (14-14) the Shockers rolled over the Dawgs in the second half and won the game 48-14. In the Second quarter QB David Jones hit WR Kenny Shields for a 58 yard pass and RB Brannon Hatley had a 18 yard scamper for a touchdown. In the third QB Eric Hoskins hit WR Phillip Doolin twice, each for scores (68,48 yards). The forth quarter saw the Shockers running game attack the end zone as FB Tufue Tua (6 yards), Hatley (38 yards) and FB Alex Maldenado (6yard run) helped carry the Shockers to their forth straight win of 45 points or more over their North Central Division opponents. Kansas City gets a well deserved weekend off as they prepare to take on the Northwest Iowa Bruisers in Paulina, Iowa on August 13. The last time these two teams met was July 9, when the Shockers shut out the Bruisers 45-0. The Shockers are currently allowing just 6 points per division game while scoring an average of 52 points.
*BEARS SENT BACK TO THEIR DEN
The five time defending North Central Division champion Nebraska Bears came into Excelsior Springs Saturday night with one thing on their minds... making sure the new kids in town didn't knock them off their pirtch. Well... it didn't quite work out that way. The Shockers who have out scored their opponents 113-0 in the last two games, poured it on the Bears fast. QB Eric Hoskins hit WR Phiilip Doolin for a TD strike, the "Death Squad" defense then came out and got a stafety. Hoskins then hooked up with Doolin again on what could easy be the the catch of the year, a beautiful over the shoulder catch on the run in the coner of the endzone. At half time the score was 42-0 Shockers. The Bears then came back late in the 3rd quarter with a TD of their own making it 42-7. QB David Jones then hooked up with reciever Joe Peppers on a long TD strike. However the Bears wouldn't lay down and on the last play of the game they connected on a TD pass. The Shockers were lead defensively by on onslaught of interceptions. Robert Hall picked one off and ran it to the house. Joe Laster, Octavious McFarlane and "573's" Jeff Edwards had one as well. The final score, Shockers 48, the Bears 13. The Shockers are now 3-0 in division play. Next week they travel to South Dakota to take on the Lawdawgs who would love nothing more than to beat the Shockers at home after a close loss in the playoffs last season 21-18.
*SHOCKERS RECIEVER CATCHES HONOR
New addition to the Shockers roster steps up big!
WR Phillip Doolin was named one of Minor League Football News' players of the week for his 5 catch, 193 yards, 5 TD performance in a blowout win over the Norfolk Thunderbirds. Doolin is a University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff product who spent last season on the Arizona Cardinals practice squad. Helping get the ball to Doolin this past weekend was QB David Jones who was 12-16, 310 yards and 6 touchdowns. Congrats to both on a great performance! The Shockers are in action this weekend when they host the 5 time North Central Division Champs, the Nebraska Bears.
*ANOTHER GOOSE-EGG!
On a hot and humid evening in Norfolk, Nebraska, the Kansas City Shockers took their frustrations of a hot and long bus ride out on the Norfolk Thunderbirds. QB David Jones threw for 330 yards. WR Phillip Doolin had a breakout game catching 5 passes for 5 touchdown and over 150 yards receiving. The defense continued it's dominating ways, rookie CB Maverick Dean stepped up in his first start getting an interception and shutting down his receivers. The special teams continued to be special as well, even without star O.J. Simpson, the Shockers ran back 4 kickoffs and punt returns in the game with Octavious McFarlane, Steve Smith and Korey Woodbury. Final score Shockers 68, Thunderbirds 0. (More on the scoring and stats later) The Shockers next battle will be with 5 time North central Division Champions, the Nebraska Bears, this upcoming Saturday at home. The SHockers want EVERY SHOCKERS FAN THERE! Let's show the Bears how we support our team here in KC and "PACK THE HOUSE!" More on this game this week.
*BRUISERS BRUISED & GOOSE-EGGED!
Your Kansas City Shockers opened up the 2005 home schedule Saturday by blanking North Central Division opponent Northwest Iowa Bruisers. The game started off with a 90 some yard pass from David Jones to O.J. Simpson. Extra point good by Javier Rodas, 7-0 Shockers. The Shockers "Death Squad" defense held the Bruisers three and out on the ensuing drive. On forth down though The Bruisers punted to O.J. "I'm doing my best Dante Hall expression" Simpson who took it to the house. The Shockers then got a 2-point conversion to make it 15-0. QB David Jones hit reciver Phillip Doolin for a score, Brannon Hatley had a beautiful run for another 6, Brian "The Tank" McClure had a one yard TD plunge, Tufue Tua had a rushing score and kicker Jerry Lakin hit a 50 yard field goal. The final score was 45-0. The Shockers would like to thank all the fans for attending this one, Logan St. James who did an awesome job keeping the crowd excited and the opposing team frustrated and Matt Hillman and Cori Hook who made sure everything ran smoothly. Next week the Shockers travel to Norfolk, Nebraska to take on the Thunderbirds. The next home game is July 23 against the Nebraska Bears. Check back soon for all of the promotions.
*BORDER WAR ONE IN THE BOOKS, SHOCKERS CLAIM FIRST TROPHY!
On a hot and steamy June night, the Shockers with heavy hearts, took to the battle field against the Kansas Kaos. A rivalry of a new breed has started in Kansas City and people should take notice. The first of what will be many of the Border War Battles was a stellar game. Fans saw drama NFL playoff style. The Kaos got the scoring started after a scoreless first quarter with a long pass play from Nick Wilkowski to Roger Hawkins. Extra point attempt was missed. The Shockers on the very next play saw the amazing O.J. Simpson take the kickoff to the house. Extra point made by Javier Rodas. Halftime score was 6-7 Shockers. The second half saw even more of a defensive game. The Shockers lit up the scoreboard next by Eric Hoskins hitting Simpson for a 70 yard TD strike. Extra point was missed by Rodas. The Kaos came back with a nice 20 sum yard scamper by Allen Williams. Extra point good, game tied. The Shockers then got down inside the Kaos 10 but the Kaos defense held the Shockers offense forcing the Shockers to play the field position game going for it on 4th down. The Kaos defense continued their strong play by stuffing RB Brannon Hatley and taking over at their own 5. Our suffocating "Sudden Death" defense then held the Kaos and forced them to punt. The punt was low and very short. After Hatley poured everything out on a run, Kicker Javier Rodas then delivered the final blow to the Kaos sending a field goal 35 yards for what would be the win... but not after a scare. The Kaos tried to pull a "Music City Miracle" out of their hats on the ensuing kickoff which saw near everyone on the Kaos return unit touch the ball, finally they were tackled and the game belonged to the Shockers 16-13. Leading the way in the game for the Shockers were LB Eric Moore who was all over the field and down the neck of the Kaos QB's, Mr. O.J. Simpson of course and Ryan "Slash: Bauer who was on the field darn near the whole game, playing some o-line, d-line and special teams. These guys helped raise the level of play for all the Shockers. We would also like to thank the Kaos for their sportsmanship and professionalism. This is going to be fun for many, many years. The Shockers finally return home for the first time since last seasons playoff loss, Saturday July 9th at 7 PM to take on division opponent Northwest Iowa Bruisers. Look for more information on our site in the coming week about all the festivities that will take place.
*REST IN PEACE, MASON BYRD JAN. 19, 1981-JUNE 21, 2005
Tuesday June 21, 2005; The Shockers have learned this afternoon that Mason Byrd, a running back for the the team has passed away. Please keep Mason, his family and his friends in your thoughts and prayers. Mason was a great teammate and a great person. He will be forever missed!
*D-O-M-I-N-A-T-E!
Winning feels good... very good! Last night the Shockers took to the gridiron against the 2-0 Kansas City Panthers of the MLFA. The Shockers, who had been waiting two weeks to get redemption for the preseason loss, took it out on the Panthers in "good 'ol butt whoopin'" fashion. The offense was lead by the strong play of QB David Jones, who hooked up with every reciever on the Shockers squad. The defense was lead by the monster know as Tenney Barber who haunted the opposing QB and RB's all night. DB Octavious McFarlane picked off two Panther passes and LB Jomar Lopez also had a pick in which he ran back for a TD. Kicker Javier Rodas put on a kicking clinic booting 3 kickoffs for touchbacks. Return man O.J. Simpson also took one to the house. If you couldn't be at the game you can listen to the broadcast on KCXL 1140 AM Sunday night at 5 PM. The Shockers now look for REVENGE as they travel back to Johnson County to do battle with the Kansas Kaos for the first annual Border War game. Game time is set for 7:30. More information on this game when it becomes available. You can also listen to the Shockers Chad Bosley tomorrow night (Monday) previewing this upcoming game on the Kansas Kaos coaches show on 1510 AM at 7PM.
* WHEN IT RAINS, IT POURS...
The Kansas City Shockers were defeated last night (June 6) by the Kansas Kaos 15-20 in what was an awesome game from a fans stand point. Neither team could provide much offense in the second half due to a down pour and very wet and muddy field conditions. The Shockers would like to thank ALL their fans who showed up to this one. We would also like to thank the Kaos for their hospitality and great football environment. These two teams will meet again on June 25 at the Blue Valley District Complex in Overland Park, KS at 7:30 PM. The Shockers open up the regular season against the Kansas City Panthers of the MLFA on June 18 in Overland Park at Shawnee Mission South High School.

SHOCKERS CELEBRATE FIRST PLAYOFF WIN!!!
Your Kansas City Shockers, in their inaugural season made the playoffs and now have their first ever playoff victory under their belt. Saturday October 13, the Shockers traveled to Sioux Falls, South Dakota to take on a very tough and very professional team in the Dakota Lawdawgs. In a game that was dominated by defensive play and very cold weather conditions, the Shockers edged the Lawdawgs 20-18. The Shockers scored off a pass from QB Joe Reid to WR Kenny Shields, extra point failed. The score was tied at 6. The Shockers second touchdown was scored by RB Brannon Hatley in a play you would have to see to believe, he juked and ran over Lawdawgs and left 7 of them laying on the field in shame. The Shockers went for two and made it which made the score 14-6 in favor of your boys in blue. That was the score at halftime. In the second half, the Lawdawgs came out and scored on a TD pass and then missed the 2 point conversion. That had the scoreboard reading 18-14 in favor of Dakota. At that point there was 2:13 left on the clock in the forth quarter. Just when the Shockers looked like they might be done... NOPE! On the ensuing kickoff, kick returner Kenny Shields did his best Dante Hall impression and found the sideline and was gone... the Shockers sideline erupted. The Shockers, missing their regular kicker, missed the extra point. Score was 20-18. The defense came out and made the Lawdawgs go four and out and that was the game.
The Shockers advance to the quarterfinals of the playoffs and welcome the Montgomery County Bulls from Woodlands, Texas to the beautiful Tiger Stadium in Excelsior Springs. The game is this Saturday October 23 at 7:05 PM. The SHockers want your help in not only packing the house but making this the toughest place to play in the NAFL and all of Minor League football!!!
More information as in ticket prices and entertainment will be forthcoming. So stay tuned to this website in the next two days.
ALSO... look for the NAFL All-Star teams to be announce by Tuesday evening. Check out which of your favorite Shockers made the squad.

Shockers lose a close one....
The Shockers traveled into St. Louis on Saturday to face the St. Louis Bulldogs for second place in the Missouri Division. Game time was moved up to 4:30. The Bulldogs on the first drive of the game scored 6 on the Shockers. The Shockers offense followed that up with 18 unanswered points. Mixed into that was DB Wendell Johnson's 3 interceptions and DB Pierre Mosby's pick for a touchdown. The Shockers knew going into the game that they were not only facing the Bulldogs but they were also going to be facing the officials and they were not disappointed. The Shockers added in a couple more TD's and then the Bulldogs added the nail in the coffin. They scored on a TD by their running back and then got the 2 point conversion. The Shockers got the ball back and scored on a 70 yard run by running back Brannon Hatley but surprise surprise, it was called back. They were forced to punt giving the Bulldogs the ball back. The Shockers with 3 timeouts left held the Bulldogs to a forth down. Forth and 6 to be exact. On the punt the Shockers were called for running into the kicker. 5 yard penalty. That would make it a yard short, right? Wrong! After the officials placed the ball and it was very clear to the eye it was short, they wouldn't give the Shockers a messurement and handed the Bulldogs the game. Final score 31-32. Not to take anything away from the Bulldogs play! They played tough! When St. Louis comes to Kansas City it WILL be a different game.
Next week the Shockers have a bye week followed up by the Missouri Rifles coming to Excelsior Springs on September 11. 7:05 will be the game time as the Shockers attempt to get some redemption from an earlier game in which the Rifles out played the Shockers 22-0. This will be a classic so make sure you all come out to this one! More on this game through this week.

Shockers rule NAFL in Kansas City in year one!
Excelsior Springs, MO; The Kansas City Shockers pulled off the hat trick Saturday night against the Jazz for the 2004 season, beating them 35-14 in front of the Shockers largest crowd of the season.
Jazz player injured... The following is from the NAFL message board; "In the Jazz loss to the Shockers Saturday August 14, 2004, Jerry Templin Jazz punter was injured and preliminary reports are that he has broken his leg. We the Jazz hope for a quick recovery, as he has a loving family and players who support him." Juan "Jazzman" Houston G.M./owner Kansas City Jazz
From the Kansas City Shockers, Please keep Jerry in your thoughts and prayers! It is very unfortunate that players get seriously hurt on the gridiron! Jerry seemed to be in good spirits last I saw him on the field. We pray for his speedy and complete recovery!

Shockers get up by 16 in first 48 seconds and never look back!
LINCOLN, NE; The 7-1 Kansas City Shockers traveled to Lincoln Nebraska to take on the Renegades in a conference battle Saturday night missing a handful of starters due to the overwhelming load of weddings (see below.) However it didn't faze them one bit. On the opening kickoff the Shockers Kenny Shields ran it back for a 90 yard touchdown. Mark Shaw followed it up by the extra point and then blasted a kick downfield on the kickoff which was fumbled by the Renegades returner, who picked it up in the endzone and tackled for a safety. After the free kick by the Renegades and on the Shockers first play from scrimage quarterback Eric Hoskins threw a 65 yard pass to receiver Kenny Shields for a touchdown. So like that the Shockers were up 16-0 in 48 seconds. Also getting in on the scoring fest was RB Brannon Hatley who had over 200 yards rushing and 3 TD's, WR Kenny Shields added another TD in the air making his total 3 for the night, WR Mark Shaw pulled one out of the sky and TE Eddie Reuscher had a TD as well. The defense was lead by LB Steve Butler's fumble recovery, CB Eric Hoskins interception and sacks by defensive linemen Nigel McDowell 1, and Chad Bosley 2, The defensive allowed 2 touchdowns on the night and special teams gave up the other one. The final score on the night was Shockers 56, Renegades 20. Next week the Shockers are back at home for the Kansas City Showdown finally against rival Kansas City Jazz. The last time these two teams met the boys in blue walked away with a 12-6 victory in OT. The Shockers will have every member of their squad back this week so come out and cheer on your Shockers to another home victory. The Shockers current record is 8-1 overall.
We would like to send our congratulations and well wishes to our #25 LB Eric Moore who got married on Saturday to his lovely wife Kristen!

Shockers continue dominance of NAFL in KC
Rivalries begin like this. The Shockers and the Jazz played their hearts out on Saturday night. So much so that they took their defensive battle into overtime. The Jazz got the ball to begin OT and the Shockers got them 4 after a fake punt attempt. Thanks to the great field position the Shockers scored two plays later on a run by RB Brannon Hatley with great blocking and the Shockers get a thrilling OT win 12-6. The Shockers would like to send their respect to the Jazz players for a very physical game! Very classy guys! The Shockers would also like to thank the 12th man, our fans who had a strong showing and completely out numbered the Jazz fans. We know who the best fans in KC are! Next week the Shockers travel to Lincoln to take on the Renegades!

Shockers get back on winning track virsus the Spirit
Final score Shockers 49, St. Charles Spirit 8....
Thanks to the day long down pour of rain, the "Pack The House" Promotion was canceled. However, the rain broke and Fall like weather continued in Excelsior Springs as the Shockers put a whooping on the St. Charles Spirit at Tiger Stadium. In the first quarter Quarterback David Jones hit receiver Damon Wells for a 13 yard TD pass. The Shockers offense picked up in the second quarter with touchdown runs by Paco Helms, Brannon Hatley and Eric Hoskins. Also getting in on the first half scoring was Mark Shaw who hit a 36 yard field goal. Score at the half was 29-0 Shockers. The second half started off great as well as receiver Kenny Shields caught a pass from QB Eric Hoskins. In the third quarter the Shockers got TD runs by Sharrod Dukes and LA King. The scoring fest was largely due to the awesome blocking ability of the NEW offensive line. The Shockers defense was also phenomenal! They virtually shut down everything the Spirit had to offer. Including any hope the Spirit had of a passing game as interceptions were grabbed by LB's Eric Moore and Leroy Moore (no relation) and DB's Dustin Thompson and LA King. With the win the Shockers improve their record to 6-1 overall and 2-1 in conference play. Next week the Shockers travel across town, just over the Kansas border to face the Kansas City Jazz. The last time these two teams met the Shockers went into Art Lawrence Stadium and beat the Jazz 33-15. The Shockers will look to tune out the Jazz again this weekend as the battle for city wide bragging rights continue!

Shockers Taste Defeat For The First Time
The Kansas City Shockers quick rise to being undefeated and being rank high nationally, came to an ebrubt stop Saturday night in Springfield, MO, losing to the Missouri Rifles 22-0. It was a very hard fought game on both sides of the ball but the Shockers offense couldn't catch a break and could never get things to click. The defense, who was on the field the majority of the game, allowed 257 yards rushing, two TD's and two field goals. CB Robert Hall had an interception late in the first half for the Shockers. The Rifles defense on another hand, grabbed 8 interceptions in the winning effort. "You gotta lose sometime," said team GM Chad Bosley. "It was an eye opener and a learning experience. Nobody wants to lose but we'd rather it happen now so we can make the corrections instead of later on down the road, like the playoffs, when you can't fix it because your done. We'll bring it to them next time! Believe that!" The Shockers are now 5-1 overall, 2-1 in conference play and 1-1 in division play!
Next week the Shockers are back to the comfortable confines of Tiger Stadium when the St. Charles Spirit come to town. The last time these two teams met was on June 26 when Kansas City went into St. Louis and beat them 36-6. This week we are challenging you, the fans, to "PACK THE HOUSE!" In this promotion, the Shockers are offering a deal of buy two $6 adult tickets and get one free. We will be raffling off all kinds of gift certificates, autographed footballs and more. We will also have a variety of Kansas City celebs signing autographs before the game. Stay tuned to this website throughout the week on who is going to be there and what we will be giving away! Metro Sports will be there shooting highlights of the game as well. It promises to be a blast! So EVERYONE bring two friends, wear your Shockers Blue, get LOUD and let's show the Spirit who the best fans in the NAFL are!!!

Renegades Shocked in Excelsior Springs Saturday night, storms blew all around Tiger Stadium but never came close enough to cause concern. However, the Shockers were storming all over the field all night long. In a huge first half defensive battle the Shockers nabbed 2 turnovers; DT Chad Bosleys forced fumble the first play from scrimage and CB Nyron Stewarts interception and TD. Stewarts TD was the first of the game and that was enough to spark the Shockers offense, scoring on TD's by WR Todd Robinson, WR Mark Shaw and QB Eric Hoskins. The defense pulled off one of it's best performances of the season with a big ol' goose egg. Also getting in on the turnoverfest was LB Eric Moore (INT) and CB Robert Hall who almost took his pick to the house. The final score was Shockers 28, Renegades 0. With the victory the Shockers improved thier record to 5-0 overall, 2-0 in conference play and are still 1-0 in division play. The Shockers had some special NFL guests in the crowd watching the game as well. Kick returner/RB David Allen from the Jacksonville Jaguars and assistant head coach/defensive coordinator from the Washington Redskins, Gregg Williams. We would like to thank both for attending the game and invite both to come back anytime. Next week the Shockers travel to Springfield, Missouri to take on the 1-0 Missouri Riffles. The Rfiles won their game last night against the Kansas City Jazz 34-0. Next weeks game will be the Shockers biggest test thus far in the young 2004 season.

The Spirit Goes Down, Shockers Make It 4 In A Row!
In their first game of NAFL Midwest Conference/Missouri Division play the Shockers traveled down I-70 to take to the gridiron against the St. Charles Spirit. The Shockers hit the board first with a nice pass down the middle of the field by starting quarterback Eric Hoskins to WR O.J. Simpson. Mark Shaw added the extra point to put the Shockers up 7 nil. On the ensuing kickoff the Shockers Dell Webb pick up a forced Spirit fumble to get the ball back for Kansas City. The Spirit then hit on a pass deep down field to put them inside the 10. Controversy then insude after the play because the officials had blown the play dead right after the snap, which the Shockers had stopped play. This caused the long pass play. The Spirit then got the decision to replay the down or take it where the ball had been spotted inside the 10. Of course they took the ball inside the 10 and scored on an outside running play. They attempted the 2 point conversion but failed when the QB tried running the ball up the middle and was met by DT Chad Bosley who caused a fumble and the failed conversion. The Shockers then took control of the rest of the game with TD passes to WR Keith Dawson and Mark Shaw. Brannon Hatley added yet another TD on the ground. But that wasn't all! Return specialist O.J. Simpson proved he was one of the best in the game when he added another punt return for a TD on the season. This brings his total to 3. On the defensive side the Shockers got very strong performances by Randy Alexander, Pierre Mosby and Eric Moore. That's just to name a few. LA King also added 2 interceptions in a great performance! The final score was 35-6. With the victory the Shockers improved their record to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in conference play. Next week is a bye week for the banged up Shockers to which they plan on celebrating the holiday with friends and family. The Shockers return to action on Saturday July 10 when the Lincoln Renegades make the trip down to Excelsior Springs. More exciting news on this game later this week! The Shockers would like to thank all the fans who made the trip. We have the best fans! You all were awesome once again!

Shockers win game one of Kansas City Showdown The Shockers went into Art Lawrence Stadium in KCK with one thing on their mind. Domination! And Dominate they did. Other than two drives, one at the end of the first half and one at the end of the second half, the Shockers Blackshirt defense shut down any hope of the Jazz moving the ball down field. Numerous sacks and smash mouth tackles where made behind the line of scrimage all night. The Shockers "O" held their own as well scoring off of runs by Brannon Hatley and Paco Helms. In the air TD catches where snagged down by "Mailman" Damon Wells, Mark Shaw and O.J. Simpson. But they were not the only ones that scored. The Shockers defense got on the score board for the first time this season with a sack in the end zone by Dustin Cundiff and Steve Butler. The final score was 33-15 in favor of your boys in blue. The Shockers would like to thank all the fans that came out in support of their favorite Kansas City team as they out numbered the Jazz fans. You all are awesome!!! The Shockers travel over to face the Jazz again in game 2 of 3 on August 31. Next week however the Shockers look to continue their winning streak in St. Charles, MO as they take on the Spirit. Game time is set for 3 PM. This will be opening weekend for the Spirit so you know they will be hungry! Hope to see you all there!!!

Shockers Win in 3 Quarters
In their home opener on Saturday night the Shockers took it to the Tri-County Buccaneers, in a game that ended up being just 3 quarters due to a bad storm in KC. The Shockers defense was stingy as usual and the offense came alive on touchdowns by Mark Shaw, Brannon Hatley and Todd Robinson. O.J. Simpson added another TD on special teams for the Shockers who have won two straight. The final score was 35-6. The Shockers begin NAFL conference play next week when they travel across town to play the first of three games with the Kansas City Jazz. The Shockers would like to thank all the fans that came out in support of the new team. We would also like to congratulate defensive tackle and assistant General Manager Dustin Cundiff and fiance' Brandi on their emotional engagement at half time! The Shockers next home game is July 10, when they host the Renegades from Lincoln.
The Kansas City Shockers and the Excelsior Springs School District would like to remind you that the Excelsior Springs School District is a tobacco AND alcohol FREE school district. So in respect of the athletes on the field and the workers at the stadium, please to do not bring either on to school property. Thank You!!!
Here is What Kansas City Jazz head coach Craig Estopare has to say about next weeks game (taken from the NAFL's message board): "Congratulations to the Shockers for another win. The bubble will burst and the fantasy officially ends this week when you come to our house. The JAZZ took the first step last night towards establishing Dominance in Kansas City. The Shockers are next....Pack A Lunch !"
Attention Shockers players, you are not to post any replys to this message on any message boards. I'm just using this as fuel for next weeks game.

Excelsior Springs Here We Come!
May 12, 2004: William Jewell College was very close to hosting the Kansas City Shockers home games in 2004 before major scheduling conflicts came up between Jewell and the Shockers. As a result, Jewell assistant Athletic Director Brian Kramer went beyond the call of duty and contacted another Athletic Director, with news of the football teams search for a home field.
"At first we were pretty disappointed," said Shockers General Manager Chad Bosley, "but when we found out that Excelsior (Springs) was interested, the disappointment turned into excitement."
Bosley and team owner Robert Webb met with Jesse Hall, Excelsior Springs High School Activities Director about the possibility of playing at the high school. Excelsior had just put in a brand new $3 million dollar stadium complete with Sprinturf, a huge press box with luxury suits and stadium seating. After looking over the new facility Bosley and Webb fell in love with the stadium and knew that had to be their home. After financial terms were discussed the Shockers grabbed the opportunity to play at the beautiful facility.
"We knew it had to be ours." said Bosley, "We believe no team we play this year will come close to having anything like it!"
All Shockers home games start at 7:05. You can view the schedule by clicking on schedule in the navigational bar. The Shockers would like to send its sincere gratitude to Brian Kramer of William Jewell for helping us find this great field and Jesse Hall and E.S. High School for allowing us to play at your awesome facility in your great town! The Shockers first home game will be June 12 against the Tri-County Buccaneers.
SHOCKERS JOIN NAFL The Kansas City Shockers are pleased to announce its membership in the North American Football League for the 2004 season. The schedule includes a series of THREE games with Kansas City's most established Semi-Pro team, the Kansas City Jazz, for city wide bragging rights.
