Youth Cheer and Football Clinic July 25 The Kansas City Shockers Cheer and Football teams will host annual youth clinics Saturday, July 25, 2009, from 1-4 p.m. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. The cost per participant is $25, and participants receive professional instruction, a T-shirt, signed cheer team poster and admission to the night's game. Participants in the cheer clinic will perform at the Shockers-Cyclones half-time show at approximately 8:30 p.m., July 25. Parents are encouraged to register their youth by calling Gwen Kitchell at 816-679-6153.
Shockers Cheer Team featured at Ruff Ride to Benefit Northland Animal Welfare Society The KC Shockers Cheer Team encourages all animal lovers to participate in the 3rd annual Ruff Ride & Dice Run Saturday, June 20, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. The ride and dice run will begin at Tallant's Hot Rod Shop, located at 1777 Iron, in North Kansas City, Mo., and ends at Stables Bar & Grill, located at 607 West 92 Hwy Suite JJ, in Kearney, Mo., with two stops between these establishments. Entries into the 100-scenic-mile ride through the Kansas City Northland will benefit the Northland Animal Welfare Society (NAWS) and its mission to educate citizens regarding the humane treatment of animals. NAWS works to create awareness, regarding the need to reduce the number of homeless animals and to build a care and adoption campus so that every animal may live in a safe and caring environment.

Pancake Breakfast to Raise Funds for KC Shockers Players with Purpose Program The Kansas City Shockers semi-pro football team will host a community Pancake Breakfast Sunday, June 14, 2009, from 7 to 11 a.m., at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Sugar Creek Memorial Post 3976, located at 12810 Kentucky Road. The cost per person is $5, and funds raised will help to support the team and its Players with Purpose program. The event is open to KC Shockers team members and families, residents and officials of Sugar Creek, Mo., the general public and media.
The KC Shockers Players with Purpose program enlists the team roster of able-bodied men to perform community clean-up, remediation and construction; assists local school sporting and fund-raising events such as the Van Horn High School student-athlete lift-a-thon; and to sponsor and instruct football clinics for area youth.

KC Shockers Featured on KGGN June 6 Representatives from the Kansas City Shockers will be featured during the Kansas City Sports Zone broadcast on KGGN 890 AM with host Bryant Tucker at 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 6. The KCSZ's mission provides semi-pro sports with a public voice in the KC Metro area and online. Tucker is a former GM for a sports team and now the head coach of semi-professional women's basketball team. Listeners will be able to win ticket packs and season passes to the Kansas City Shockers, and ShockerWear. Listen to the interview (Saturday, June 6 @ 5 p.m.)
